Quiet Read Personal Lit Novels 20 min Review Chapter 5 - 'Haunted in the Bush' pg 42-51 Vocab:  Stilted: pg 43 -  Stilted  means  awkward, stiff, or unnatural , especially in the way someone moves, speaks, or behaves. Latrine: pg 44 -  A  latrine  is a simple toilet, often just a pit dug in the ground, used when proper indoor plumbing isn’t available. Synchroncity pg 46 -  you may find under  synchronous Synchronicity  refers to meaningful coincidences—events that happen at the same time in a way that feels connected or significant, even if there’s no obvious cause. Road Allowance People Definition: Indigenous people who were displaced from reserves and forced to live on unused strips of land beside roads (road allowances). Historical context: ? In Canada, some Métis and First Nations families were pushed off their land. With nowhere to go, they built makeshift homes along road allowances. They were often extremely poor and marginalized. 3.
